Frequently Asked Questions - Cookies

What are your prices?

My custom designs average $48/dozen. Your order will be quoted a price based on design, colors needed to complete the order, complexity, packaging needs, time to create, etc.
Custom cookies = custom pricing.

What is your payment policy?

Invoices will be sent to your email address via Square and will give you the option to make a secure debit or credit card payment.  Invoices not paid within 24 hours will be canceled without notice and the date will be opened up for other orders.  Payment is required in full in order to begin preparing your order (that means sourcing any cookie cutters, sprinkles, packaging, ingredients, supplies, etc.).  Your payment secures your spot on my calendar.

All payments are done through Square invoicing. I do not accept payment via Venmo, PayPal, or any other payment system besides Square invoicing. I do not accept personal checks.

Corporate Accounts: If your business/organization requires payment via check or purchase order, please notify me immediately (prior to being invoiced) at info@threemelonsbakeshop.com.

How early should I order?

I ask that you inquire about cookies as soon as you have decided you want them for your event.  I typically need a minimum of 14 days notice for custom cookie orders, assuming I’m available, but strongly prefer at least a month prior to your pick up date.  The earlier I know, the better for you!! 

I have limited spots open each week and sometimes have to turn down orders because they were requested too late or I’m booked. However, if you find yourself in a cookie emergency, please email me at info@threemelonsbakeshop.com and I may be able to help you or direct you in the direction of another local cookier.  A rush fee may be incurred. 

DATE HOLD RETAINER: Unsure of what you want or need for your upcoming order but you know you want some sweets?  No problem.  A non-refundable retainer of $25 is required to hold your spot for any order at least 2 months out.  All order details are required at least 30 days prior to your event.  An invoice will be sent at that time and payment in full will be required within 24 hours of the invoice or your spot will be forfeited.  

Why a non-refundable retainer? Once an order is placed and payment is made, preparation begins on the design, ingredients, and supplies for your order. 

Is there a minimum or maximum order?

There is a minimum of one dozen (12) cookies per order (standard/large size cookies). There is a minimum of 2 dozen (24) for mini's.

Please note that any order over 200 cookies will be charged an 18% service fee. (Similar to a flat gratuity rate for large tables at restaurants.) This is to accommodate extended hours, additional overhead, and potentially hiring an assistant.

What flavors do you offer?

Cookies are a pure vanilla bean sugar cookie with a vanilla royal icing. Other cookie flavors are available as specials or by request for an additional fee.

Allergy Info.

I have a tree nut allergy so I do not bake with tree nuts at all.  I sometimes bake with peanuts/peanut butter, if requested, and they are in my home.  My cookies contain dairy, wheat, and eggs. I currently do not offer gluten-free cookies. If you have an allergy, please contact me before placing an order.

What size cookies do you offer?

Standard cookies are between 3-4 inches and are considered the average size.  This is the most popular size.

Large are considered 4.5+ inches.

Mini’s are 1-2.75 inches.

How many designs can I get?

I specialize in creating “sets”. This means that I only create a few designs per dozen. The amount of designs will be determined during the ordering process. On average for 1 dozen, I offer 3-4 designs.

What packaging do you offer?

All cookies come loosely packaged in a standard bakery box. Additional packaging options are available, including but not limited to:

  • Cookies can be individually heat sealed in cellophane bags for an additional charge.
  • Cookies bagged and tied with a coordinating ribbon or raffia cost also incur an additional charge.
  • Gift sets are also available in gift boxes, tins, etc. for an additional fee.
  • If you need to ship your cookies, wrapping them to be ready for shipping is available for a fee.

Do you offer discounts or bulk order discounts?

I do not offer discounts. The amount of time and thought that goes into each individual cookie is precious to me, particularly since I operate the business by myself and have a young family with busy schedules.

I take great pride in my work and sincerely enjoy what I do. While I know my prices may not be the same as the grocery store, I know they are worth it. 

One way to think about it…you’re getting a Porsche, not a Smart Car. 

Do you offer donations?

 I will gladly donate items to local non-profit organizations for door prizes, raffles, etc., if I have availability and it’s for a cause that is near and dear to me.  I only do a very limited amount of donations per year.  I do not offer monetary donations at this time.

Yes! I have gift certificates for the amount of your choice.  They're available in my shop.
