Best Home-Based Business in Shenandoah County Award

Best Home-Based Business in Shenandoah County Award

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, Three Melons Bake Shop was award the Best Home-Based Business in Shenandoah County Award by the Shenandoah Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Awards Banquet.

After Thursday night, I’ve thought about just how much has happened in the last almost 7 years since starting Three Melons Bake Shop and just how far I’ve come. I never thought my little hobby would explode into the successful business I have today. I never saw cookies in my future (other than to eat them lol). I was so excited and honored to even be nominated but when my name was read as the winner for Best Home Based Business on Thursday night, seeing my husband’s face light up and everyone clapping, I was flooded with all the emotions. I keep having the quote from Niecy Nash from the Emmy’s last week where she said, “I want to thank me, for believing in me and doing what they said I could not do. Go, girl, with your bad self. You did that.” It’s ok to congratulate yourself and be proud and shout your accomplishments from the rooftops. Why the heck not. When you’re a small business owner and you literally put in your blood, sweat, tears, money, cuss words, lost sleep, and so much time into your craft….you deserve to brag!
So, to all the businesses nominated, who won and those all my fellow small business bosses, you deserve all the things! To all those who nominated and voted for me, thank you! Thank you to everyone who commented, DM’d or text me with so many nice things that made my heart swell. And I can’t say it enough…thank you to my wonderful customers who continue to allow my cookies and works of edible art to go out into the wild. And to the most amazing family, I couldn’t do this without you. I love you so much. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love.
